From a passion to an obsession Snow Goose Hunting

Coming from Chicago and then moving to Houston Texas at a young age is traumatic enough at the age of sixteen; little did I know of the wonders and disappointments that lay ahead. When living in Chicago as a young boy I do remember seeing the Canada geese from time to time and of course chasing the local pair of ducks around the local park with a stick, but nothing could have prepared me for what was in store.

Once arriving in Baytown Texas many things were obvious at first glance and not just their speech. There were oil derricks, the Gulf of Mexico, John Wayne filming a movie about oil well fire fighting and oh yea the massive amounts of waterfowl. Once out from the sleepy little town there were field after field of crops and in the late fall as the temperature fell the waterfowl started arriving and not just ducks, but geese; snow geese.

Almost as soon as I saw the masses of snow geese I was hooked and not that much longer I had pestered almost everyone my parents knew in to letting me tag along as they went hunting. Knowing nothing and coming form a family that had no hunters one of my father’s co workers took pity on me and succumb to my constant pleading and begging to join them. He first made me agree to do as I was told and that he would allow me to help set up their next mornings hunt, knowing less than nothing I clamored at the chance to go and would have agreed to almost anything at that point.

My first day hunting or well at least I thought so, started as I was awaken before anything could have possibly been awake and moving or so I had thought. After a long ride in the middle of the night that I thought would never end, going to one of this mans rice farming friend’s fields. I found my self with a group of five very large men all with guns and dogs dressed in this neat looking camouflage when my fathers’ friend says; ok you carry this bag and follow me. As I tried to follow the man the best I could carrying and dragging the funny heavy bag with all of these heavy plastic decoys of ducks and geese, I could just barley make out this hump in the back ground. As we drew closer I could see the men were stepping down in to this pit style blind, at last I am there and now I can rest or so I thought.

Once I start to sit down on the bench seats in this pit blind, I’m told; not yet we still have to put out the decoys and fast as it is almost shooting time. As I looked around you could start to see the sky change from black and full of stars to these wonderful shades of blues and yellows. I am told that I get to be the decoy boy, my job was simple do as you’re told and drag the bag behind one of the hunters and hand him decoys. After about a half hour that seemed to drag on for ever in the mud, we were done and as I turned back to look at our finished job you could see the birds flying hear and there in the early morning sky and the sounds of the geese and ducks calling to one another.

It didn’t take us long to make our way back to the pit and just in time to hear one of the men say now-now take-um, at just that moment I looked over the wall of the pit and could see what I thought was hundreds of thousands of snow geese. They looked as if they were caught in a tornado coming down and then the loud crakes of gun fire, the next thing I knew the dogs were running out and retrieving the snow white snow geese and bring them back to the pit.

As hunting goes the men really did not get that many, I felt as if I myself had taken a hundred of these gorgeous snow geese. That night I could still hear the snow geese calls ringing in my ears and was so excited I could hardly sleep in anticipation of telling all I went to school with about my newly found hobby.

Little did I realize that just that one mourning would for ever change my life giving me direction, a lasting love of the outdoors, nature and of waterfowl. What once started as a hobby then changed to a passion and now has almost consumed my life. As I count the days with my dog be my side from the end of spring to the beginning of autumn in anticipation of the fall fights of snow geese over the grain fields and once again the sounds of geese circling down into the decoys, I can’t help remembering with joy my humble beginnings as I see our clients bring there youngsters on their first snow goose hunts as they see the massive swarms of snow geese fill the crisp morning air.

Finding Sports Instruction

Many people every year decide to try their hand at a new sport. However, it is not always as easy as dropping by the local park for a game of drop in football. What if a person wants to learn to play hockey? Or if someone has just moved into a new house near a golf course and wants to pick up some pointers on how to play, and get the most use out of their new location? Finding sports instruction can be a challenge, but it doesn’t have to be. Knowing where to look is half the battle.

First, research is important before a single piece of sports equipment is purchased. “Is this sport right for me?” is a question that must be honestly answered. Will there be ample time and space to practice? If a person is interested in pick up games or even joining an amateur league, are those things available locally? If not, how dedicated is the person to driving a long distance to pursue the sports hobby? The best way to fail at any given sport is to fail to think it through before deciding to begin.

Next, go to the location where the sport will take place. If it is ice skating, drop by the local rink. If it is golf, head to the golf course and go to the clubhouse. Talk with the staff and find out if anyone offers lessons locally. Many times, sports facilities will offer group lessons for low cost for people to try their hand at a new sport. Being with others who are taking the same lessons can also be a great way to make new friends. However, if more intensive instruction is desired, private lessons can also be arranged. No matter which method is chosen, the benefits of sports instruction are greater skill and enjoyment at the game of choice

New and Used Motor Home RV Values - Blue Book and NADA

Unlike the guides for automobiles which are based on analyses of actual car prices, the Blue Book and NADA guides are based primarily on a percentage of the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (M.S.R.P.). These guides may be nowhere near the actual current resale value.

The guides include many options in the M.S.R.P. so it is hard to know which, if any, options you should include. This makes it easy for options to be charged twice.

A better way to find the resale value of RV’s is to look at other mobile homes of the same class, make and model. Check for similar amenities and base your price on that.

If you are looking to buy a used RV, these comparisons can help you determine if the price quoted to you is a fair and reasonable price.

Motor home RV values should be based on actual selling prices of similar mobile homes, taking into consideration factors like age and overall condition. Are there dents or leaks? Has the unit been properly maintained on a regular basis? Do all of the appliances work?

If this is a motorized rig, what is the mileage? Is it above or below the average? Does it run well for the mileage?

Check all accessories that came with or were added, such as the air conditioner, satellite dishes, back up mirrors, awnings, solar panels and kitchen appliances. Does it all work?

If you are selling your rig, making sure all of these items are in good condition can greatly increase your selling price.

Use the Blue Book and NADA values as a starting point and then adjust your price, or offer if you are buying, up or down according to the condition of the RV.

You can increase the value of your motor home by sprucing it up. Add new curtains, makes sure it is spotless and update appliances. These simple maneuvers can add hundreds to your selling price.

There are many variables in motor homes to be considered. Is it a towable or motorized? How many can it sleep? What appliances are included? What does the maintenance record tell you?

If you have a late model motor home to sell, you may want to have an appraisal done to insure that you bet the best price possible. Some large RV dealers provide this service and will even broker a deal for you for a small fee.

The type of RV you want to sell or buy also has an influence on your profit or cost. Obviously, a luxury motor coach will garner a larger selling price than a travel trailer or pop-up camper.

As a potential buyer you need to just decide how much you can spend for an RV, what type of motor home you want and what amenities you consider necessary, than with all of this in mind start looking around.

There are dozens of online sites you can browse and check out the class of mobile home you want. Many of these sites have interior and exterior pictures along with a list of amenities.

Of course you will want to find a dealer in your area so that you can physically inspect the used rig yourself before you buy. Ask to see the maintenance record if available. If you are buying from a dealer ask about a warranty.

The Blue Book and NADA guide are useful tools as a starting point. You need to take into consideration the age and condition of the unit, as well as amenities available.

What to consider when looking to rent a RV

There are many things you should consider when renting a RV. This will guide you through the decision making process.

When renting a RV from a provider, you are looking for reliability, affordability and dependability to begin with. But there are many other issues you will need to consider before making the final decision on which rental service will meet your needs entirely.

To start with, you will have to know exactly how long you are going to want the motor home; this begins with planning where exactly you would like to go. You will need to know this so you can work out the distance you plan to travel, how many miles you estimate you will do each day and therefore how long it will take you to get to your destination and back. Once you have worked out the minimum amount of time that you would require a RV, you should then add on a few extra days. This is not only in case of emergencies (for example, if you break down or extra unplanned-for traffic slows you down and permits you from doing your estimated number of miles that day) but also because you may decide to stay in one certain place longer than you intended or you may just want to relax and have no specific schedule that day. If you add these extra days then you don't have to panic about getting the RV back in time; this will also give you some time to fully appreciate and explore your destinations.

When deciding on which RV rental company to go with, you will first need to consider which sort of rentable motor home you would need and then decide on a provider, who can give you the best deal on this kind. Most people go with a Class C RV but there are many other varieties available; for example, Class B motor homes, which tend to be smaller, or a larger version (Class A) may be what you call for. After you have picked the style of RV you want, then you should go to each rental company and compare prices, quality and features. Then you should build a shortlist of the best companies and judge them on the other issues that are mentioned below.

There are many other factors that you should really consider besides the price and quality. For example, you may need to tow a car for a day trip, or bring along a pet that you can't leave behind; many companies will not be able to fulfil these requirements. You will also need to know how expensive the fuel will be and how many miles you get per gallon. It would also to wise to check if you have to buy insurance or if that's covered in the price. While on the subject of insurance, if the company provides that for you, you should also identify what exactly is covered in the insurance and how much the deductible is. You must also be aware of what the deposit for the RV is and what the deposit return policy is if for some reason you can't go ahead with your trip. If your trip will be during the summer, it would be a good idea to find out about air conditioning, and similarly find out about the heating if you plan to go during the winter. You will probably also require a generator for electronic devices, such as a television, stereo or DVD player, you should ask about the availability of these as well. You should also check exactly what is included in the price, for example, you may have to rent the generator and electrical products separately

Frugal Shopping with Online Coupon Books

Online coupon books give discounts on a range of goods and services right over the Internet. This not only saves valuable money, but also makes you purchase the products you always wished to purchase but couldn't.

There are a number of online sites that deal exclusively with discount coupon books. They cater to solely to the market in these books, and provide a number of tools, services, and resources to help users search and use the right coupons.

If you have decided to use online discount books, there are a number of tips to keep in mind while surfing for coupons. These are as follows.

1. You may not be able to locate the right discount coupon for your product. This should not discourage you, as new offers and deals keep coming out regularly. Try subscribing to newsletters to keep yourself informed.

2. The basic rule of market shopping applies to online shopping as well. Surf various sites to know who is offering lower prices or higher discounts for the same product.

3. There may be hidden costs like shipping associated with the product. Knowing these will help you make better decisions.

5. Since the world of marketing is always on the look out for customers who are doing shopping in the market, it is a wise policy to create a new email account and use it on online stores.

6. Internet allows us to know the product features and other details before we purchase them. Do not stick only to the reviews found on the parent website. Try searching on the product to know what others are saying.

9 Tips To Make Back-to-School Shopping a Snap

It barely seems as if the final school bell rang, and already it's time to get the kids ready to head back! With everything else you have on your plate, the idea of back-to-school shopping can be, well, less than thrilling, and just a little overwhelming.

Relax! These nine tips will help you get organized and make back-to-school shopping a breeze.

1. Make A List. Consider what each child needs most and place those items at the top of your shopping list. Prioritizing needs will help you shop early for the necessities, and you can leave the unessential items until later, when you have more timeand money.

2. Create A Budget. Knowing how much you can afford to spend on clothes and electronic items, for example, can cut a great deal of time out of your back-to-school shopping. You'll know exactly which brands and products are within your spending limits which means you won't waste time listening to that sales pitch for a high-priced computer that you know you can't afford. Be sure your kids know the limits before you head out to prevent future hassles with them over what you will and won't spend for certain items.

3. Use Cash. After you've made your budget, use cash to make your purchases. When you only have a limited amount of money in your pocket, you're not as likely to give in to the desire to splurge on things your children may not really need or that you can't really afford. This will save you huge headaches down the road when the credit card bills would be rolling in. Instead, you'll be patting yourself on the back for being such a savvy shopper.

4. Plan Your Attack. Knowing when to shop is half the battle. Choose times when your children will be feeling their best. Time your shopping to beat the crowds. With gas prices the way they are, you'll want to map out your strategy ahead of time. Plan your route and hit all the stores you need to in an orderly manner and save money at the gas pump as well.

5. Shop Alone When Possible. Sticking to a budget and dashing in and out of stores is so much easier when you're by yourself. Plus, you won't have the extra guilt that comes from kids begging for impulse items that you have to say no to. Shopping alone may not always be practical, but do it for as many items as possible. You'll save a lot of wear and tear not just on your wallet but on your nerves too!

6. Click It. Online shopping has to be any busy mom's best friend ever! You can find anything you need online and have it delivered right to your door. That means no filling up the car with kids and gas, driving all over town, and ending up back at home with your nerves frazzled and your credit card smoking. You can shop online while at the office or at home when the kids are napping or have gone to bed for the nightor any other time that's convenient to you, for that matter. Also, shopping online may save you lots of money, as you can easily shop around for the best deals and all from the comfort of your favorite PC.

7. Buy Quality. When it comes to buying things such as backpacks and other school supplies that will be used on a daily basis, you'll want to buy the highest quality you can afford. Remember a bargain isn't a bargain if an item falls apart in a few weeks and has to be replaced. So for items that are going to need to withstand a lot of wear and tear, buy quality. Believe me, you won't regret it.

8. Shop During Tax-Free Weekends. If your state has a tax-free weekend, be sure to take advantage of it. This is especially true when you need to purchase large-ticket items like computers. You'll be amazed at the amount of money you can save by shopping during this time.

9. Delegate. If you're time-starved, send Dad to do the back-to-school shopping. After all, who said shopping has to be just Mom's job? This is a great way to divide and conquer. You take half of the shopping list and let him take the other half. Neither of you will feel overwhelmed by the list of items to be bought, and sharing the shopping responsibility lessens the burdened too. (Actually, this would be a great time for you two to make a date to meet for coffee after the shopping's done and work in a little of that oh-so-important couple time!)

7 Must Have Scripts to Look for When Shopping for E-commerce Hosting

When shopping for e-commerce hosting there are a lot of things you need to keep and mind. When you know what to look for it is a lot easier to ensure you get exactly what you need and not leave any important information out. Consider these 7 must haves before you start shopping for e-commerce hosting so you will be prepared.

1. Storefront

Regardless of what software you are using, one of your main concerns should be the storefront. You want to be able to customize your storefront to your specifications, at least within reason, and certainly you want it to appear professional and well put together. This should be a main consideration when shopping for e-commerce hosting.

2. Support

Regardless of the hosting you are using you will want support, 24/7 if at all possible, and support that is real, live, and will help you with your problems. In addition to this, you should look for some self help support as well in the form of a FAQ area and support providing advice for when you find yourself in certain situations. Good hosts will provide you with a great deal of information so you can help yourself.

3. Building

With your e-commerce host you want to be able to build your site easily and to your specifications. So, you certainly want to use software that is easy to understand and implement. In addition, it is helpful if wizards are available to help you throughout the building process as well.

4. Integrated

You want to make sure the host is integrated and works well with all of the other systems that you need for your site to be successful. If it is not integrated you should strongly consider other options.

5. Tools and Functions

This is important because you want as many functions available from multiple currencies to a log of purchases, so your e-commerce host will need to be able to provide you with the space and tools you need to keep up with all of this information.

6. Software

When it comes to e-commerce software you can either buy from a physical store, buy online from your host, or create your own. The best option is to find a host that offers software that is of high quality and will help you with e-commerce.

7. Ease of Navigation

Your e-commerce software as well as your host should allow you and customers to navigate easily through all of the pages and all of the links without getting confused or backtracking.

Shopping for e-commerce hosting requires you know what you are looking for as well as what you need. As long as you choose an experienced host who has verified experience, you'll have a much better chance at making a wise decision.

Christmas Toy Shopping Online - 10 Reasons

With the Christmas season approaching, here are 10 reasons to do your toy shopping online.

1. Child free. Trying to shop for the Christmas presents with your children in tow does not really work. Why not shop on the Internet when they are in bed or busy with something else?

2. Crowd free. Avoid the hustle and bustle of the High Street, trying to get a pushchair around a cramped and busy shop

3. 24/7 shopping. The Internet is open for shopping at all hours. With the exception of a couple of large supermarkets, why tie yourself to when your local toy shops are open?

4. Range of toys available. You can find pretty much every toy available on the Internet. It's a great way to find unusual and different ideas when you get stuck in the rut of buying the same type of present year after year - after all, our niche is wooden toys and we stock some very hard to find items. A surefire way of getting away from the cloned High Streets and malls we live with today.

5. Time saving. The children are not with you - and do not know what you have got them. You are not fighting off the crowds of other shoppers. You can fit your shopping into a time that is convenient for your. No finding the last parking space in town. Get the toy shopping out of the way and when you do go to the High Street, you can relax and shop for fun.

6. No shopping bags. Five full shopping bags hanging off the pushchair, the car parked at the top of a multistory carpark a mile away and the busy shopping center to negotiate. Shop online and juggling the shopping bags is history (as is keeping out the little prying hands and eyes).

7. Home or work delivery. The majority of online stores will happily deliver to your workplace or home. If you want the toys quickly, many stores will offer a courier option. While most stores will charge a postage and packing fee, just think how much you have saved on car parking, petrol and time - and if you spend enough, the store will probably throw in free postage.

8. Range of payment options. On the Internet you can pay easily by card. Many stores will accept payment by cheque or postal order. Then there are also the online payment options such as PayPal. Don't forget that PayPal and many banks and credit card companies offer Internet fraud protection for online purchases.

9. Discounts. You may well get a good price on the Internet, but the trick to getting extra discounts is to sign up for mailing lists on websites that interest you. You will probably find that from time to time you will get extra offers, discounts and lower shipping costs.

10. Right to Cancel. In many countries you have extra rights when purchasing online. In Britain and the EU, you may cancel your order at any time during the first seven working days after delivery - for any reason at all.

Giving the Right Gift

Ralph Waldo Emerson had interesting and commendable thoughts and opinions regarding gift-giving: "Gifts of one who loved me--Twas high time they came; When he ceased to love me, Time they stopped for shame."

Emerson, nineteenth century transcendental philosopher and theologian, observed in his essay appropriately entitled "Gifts" that flowers and fruits are always appropriate gifts "because they are a proud assertion that a ray of beauty outvalues all the utilities of the world." Emerson went on to observe that things of necessity are also always appropriate gifts as well.

Emerson made the significant statement that the only true gift is a portion of ourselves. Something we create is of more significance than anything we could possibly buy in a store: "it is a cold, lifeless business when you go to the shops to buy me something which does not represent your life and talent, but a goldsmith's."

But let's face it, modern man is a materialistic creature, unlike Emerson. Too bad we don't still read Emerson's essays and aren't influenced by his advice. Of course, commerce as we know it would be seriously impacted.

Shopping for Christmas gifts is a case in point. The frenetic pace of shopping madness increases unabated throughout December. The shopping itself takes on such dimensions that with many people, the material supercedes the spiritual aspect of the holiday.

When Christmas comes and all the gifts are finally handed out, matters are not in the least resolved, as a good portion of those gifts will end up being returned soon after. (The heaviest shopping day of the entire year is December 26th) So just when we think our Christmas shopping is finally done, it's only just begun!

Then there's the matter of re-gifting. That's the most bizarre ritual of all. This refers to presents that don't come with any clue as to where they were purchased. Even Sherlock Holmes would scratch his head in perplexity.

These are gifts that no one in their right mind would want to keep: purple plaid socks, perfume that would make a skunk turn up its tail in disgust. Well, you get the picture! So what does one do with such odious presents? Naturally, we save them and give them to people we don't like or those who have given us their re-gifts. You know you've gone full cycle when one of your re-gifts ends up gifted back to you. There is nothing quite like Christmas American style!

To avoid mall madness and still manage to give gifts that friends, family and fellow workers will appreciate definitely takes time and planning. Internet shopping is one approach never dreamed of in Emerson's day. At Gift finding service of LazyGift.com you can find examples of thoughtful gifts if you go there and select 'thoughtful' as a gift type. Happy shopping for that special occasion gift that will be appreciated and well remembered!

Should I shop online or offline? A shoppers' guide

I went shopping with my wife the other day, to a British city centre nearby. My ordeal lasted ten hours. During many idle moments, I compiled this rough guide for shoppers who are unsure whether to shop online or offline in future.

I decided that shoppers SHOULD shop offline, at a nearby shopping centre, if they:

* Enjoy getting up early, to drive through slow-moving traffic and secure cheap parking places.

* Aren't too worried if their parked cars are scratched or bumped anonymously whilst they're out shopping.

* Thrive outdoors in the British climate, and are impervious to rain, hail, snow, wind, heat, frost, fog etc.

* Welcome walking from shop to shop, to find what they or their partner needs, at the best prices.

* Don't panic when their partner says that s/he wants to try an eighth store for a 'special something'.

* Like driving and/or walking back to stores, if goods are faulty, the wrong size or they forget something.

* View the carrying of heavy plastic bags, which slice into their hands, as a form of exercise.

* See avoiding pickpockets, thieves and robbers as a bit of 'sport' too.

* Tolerate sinister young men with a taste for beer, lurking in boisterous groups on street corners.

* Humour young parents with 4x4 buggies and/or unruly, unrestrained toddlers that scream loudly.

* Think retired people should only go shopping at the weekends and in the evenings, at the same time as people who work.

* Believe wide friends have the right to amble slowly side-by-side, in ways that block pavements and passageways.

* Don't mind being buffeted by other hungry shoppers, also trying to secure tables at eating outlets.

* Shrug-off the astronomic prices in shopping centres, for snacks and drinks of indifferent quality.

* Enjoy dodging cars, vans and lorries, and feel they belong in city centres during shopping hours.

* Think that second-hand cigarette smoke and vehicle fumes add a 'certain something' to shopping.

* Relish sharing strangers' viruses, bacteria, body odours, exotic language, odd habits etc.

* Are tolerant of shop assistants' occasional bad manners, surly behaviour and incompetence.

* Like queuing, smelly toilets and litter, and/or removing dog mess and chewing gum from shoes or buggy wheels.

* Enjoy finding quiet spots in otherwise confined, crowded and claustrophobic public spaces.

* Think graffiti really is an art form, and smile when shop maintenance goes unattended for weeks.

* Shrug their shoulders if shops open only when it's convenient for owners, staff (and politicians).

* Remove carefully the flyers left furtively under their windscreen wipers whilst parked and read them avidly later.

I could go on but, if you identify yourself with most of these phenomena, then you probably should shop at a shopping centre nearby. If, like me though, you find many of them irksome, you might consider shopping online instead next time!

You Need an E-Commerce Shopping Cart

E-Commerce Shopping Cart

Imagine if you went into your favorite store, found the exact item you came for then, upon talking to the sales clerk, received a blank stare. The clerk not only had no cash register, no credit card machine, he had NO way to get you legally out of the store with your merchandise. Well the same situation applies to a web site without a shopping cart.

Your business may have the coolest web site with the slickest Flash intro, or it may be very well laid out, but if you intend to sell goods on the Internet, you need an adequate E-commerce shopping cart. This shopping cart is the means that allow your customers to pick what they want and provide you the information to complete the sale.

Get your business on the right track. Get online and get a shopping cart that meets your business' needs. Don't over buy and get a shopping cart that is made for a business that is 30 times bigger than yours. At the same time don't make the mistake of buying a shopping cart that cannot accommodate the needs of your growing business. This is where the expertise of a trained third party can save you a lot of hassles.

Enter Merchant Partners. Merchant Partners is the solution when getting your business online ready. Whether you're getting ready to accept credit cards online, or setting up your e commerce shopping cart, you need an expert to get your business on the right track. Before you even get a shopping cart, you need to set up a merchant account for your business.

Merchant accounts are a simple and necessary part of creating your online business. Merchant accounts use third-parties to create and manage all of your payment options with all major credit card companies. Most importantly, merchant partners maintain the highest level of security possible during transactions for you and your customers.

Merchant Partners are exactly that: your partner. They will help you obtain all the information, software and hardware necessary for you to successfully make credit card transactions on the Internet. Merchant partners do not make the actual transaction. They simply help your business make all the necessary steps to establish accounts with the major credit card companies.

The major credit card companies actually prefer, and in some cases require, a intermediary merchant account. This way credit card companies can minimize risk from a potentially unstable new online business. Everyone wins when merchant accounts are used.

A good merchant account provider will help you at every step of your online transition. Look for a provider with experience in the industry. Pick a partner that knows how to efficiently give you the services you need to conduct business on the Net. Make sure they will maximize all the compatibility of software and hardware. You can be assured your business will run as smoothly as possible, when you have a reliable merchant partner on your side.

With these high-priced watches flying off the shelves in India at a speed nobody would have thought possible; various trade experts are taking this as the coming of age of high end customers who want to associate themselves with super high-end brands.

With India becoming a unique haven for high-end watch makers, its gala time for the upmarket horologists, the newest in the block being Geneva-based Charriol, founded by watchmaker Phillipe Charriol. Essentially a high-end watch, jewelry and accessories brand, Charriol is already present in 60 countries across the world. What would be more scintillating news for the fashion-conscious man than this that Charriol has just opened an exclusive boutique at Grand Hyatt Plaza, Santa Cruz, Mumbai? Best of all, the man behind this spectacular creation, Phillipe Charriol himself turned up in Mumbai to inaugurate the boutique. An evening that kicked off with a fashion show where models showed off the watches on their hands, arms and even legs, it was clear that the 'Style check' of hi-profile designer watches has come to stay in India

Online Shopping India

From scattered, far off situated and theme based markets of mortar and bricks, to one stop shop departmental stores, and now growing prevalence of online shopping, we have indeed travelled a long way in terms of trend and means of shopping in the modern day life. The breakthroughs in the Internet technology has actually rendered the globe an exhaustive and a rather small marketplace with unparallel easier accessibility and comprehensive range of products and services.

The modern day life is both busier and more demanding, the consumers being more aware of their rights and choice. Besides seeking purchases sitting at home with the convenience and security of a VIP postal order, the consumers also seek to weigh their options and get the most economical price for the product or service in question. Online shopping or Internet shopping or Web Shopping facilitates convenient and speedy transactions that evoke the physical analogy of buying products and services at a brick and mortar retailer. Further, online shopping allows the user to seek out the lowest price for the product or service in question, as Internet technology offers price comparison services comprising of store ratings and reviews. The pool of relevant information provided by a search engine on net allows the consumer to educate himself/ herself about the various options and price tags available for the product. Of course, it is always advisable to go for purchasing from a reputable website only to ensure quality and reliability. What's more, as newer products keep on adding to the already lengthy list of products and services, web is updated consistently to offer latest deals.

Online shoppers commonly use credit card for making payments. However, one can also use a debit card, electronic money, cash on delivery (COD), cheque, wire transfer and postal money order. Upon acceptance of payment, the product in question is delivered to the consumer via traditional means.

Earn Money Doing Mystery Shopping Men Wanted

The art of shopping is something of a mystery to most men. Perhaps, therefore, it is not so surprising that few men realise there is an opportunity for them to earn money working from home doing mystery shopping. There are probably not many men who have even thought about the existence of mystery shoppers. In fact, it would be unusual for a man to spend any time at all thinking about shopping in a positive way.

Mystery shopping (sometimes called secret shopping) is an easy way to earn money: it is very simple to do, you need no previous experience, no special knowledge and no expensive equipment. Mystery shopping jobs can be done as part-time employment in hours you choose to fit in with your current schedule. Mystery shopping companies employ men and women of all ages and backgrounds as mystery shoppers. In fact, just about adult who can manage to go shopping could become a mystery shopper, but most mystery shoppers are women.

Men are not genetically designed to be great recreational shoppers: they find it impossible to grasp the concept of shopping as a form of entertainment and tend only to go shopping when they have a particular purchase in mind. For example, when I tell my husband that I have arranged to go on a shopping trip with my daughter, he will ask me what we want to buy. What sort of a question is that? We can't possibly know what we want to buy until we see what the shops have to offer. Research shows that this is a typical male reaction to shopping. Men have this odd way of deciding they want something and then going to the shops to make the purchase. Strangely, they never come back with anything over and above the item they went out to buy and, if the item is not available, a man will even return from a shopping trip empty handed.

Whether they enjoy it or not men do go shopping. If you look around you will notice plenty of men in supermarkets. Some will just be dutiful husbands reluctantly accompanying their wives but there will be numerous other men who are solitary shoppers actually shopping in their own right. Even if their shopping basket reaches the checkout containing nothing but a six pack of beer and a cd, it's still shopping.

Look around the mall and you'll see plenty of men. Some of these will be driven by the need to buy a gift for a wife or girlfriend but there will be plenty of men out shopping for things they actually want for themselves. Men might rely on female relatives to keep them supplied with socks and underwear but it's a different story when new footwear or outerwear or sports equipment are needed.

Most men exist in a state of denial when it comes to the significance of shopping. If a man and a woman each go shopping on a particular day and they are later asked what they did that day, the woman will reply "shopping" and the man will say "nothing". However, it is this male reluctance to throw body and soul into shopping that will be a great advantage if a man decides to try a career in mystery shopping. A man sent to purchase one specific item at a particular place will be able to do exactly that. A man will not be in any danger of becoming sidetracked so that the mystery shopping assignment takes over the whole day or ends up costing him money because of an attack of impulse purchasing.

The reason mystery shopping companies exist is that companies such as retail chains, restaurants, travel companies, hotels etc need to be able to obtain impartial feedback on their employees and services. Mystery shoppers are employed to provide feedback on such things as the behaviour of members of staff, the quality of customer service and the cleanliness standards of the premises. There is no reason whatsoever for mystery shopping to be restricted to women only and some assignments are only suitable for male secret shoppers.

Apart from general retail mystery shopping assignments that are suitable for either gender, there are also male only areas that require inspection. Companies will employ mystery shoppers to report on such things as toilet facilities, men's fitting rooms in shops, men's changing rooms at gyms etc. Needless to say, a woman secret shopper would not be much of a secret in these surroundings.

When the subject of mystery shopping is considered, people normally thing of women buying dresses or shopping for food in supermarkets but there is a lot more to mystery shopping than this. Mystery shopping companies will also pay you to do things such as eat at a restaurant, have a drink at a bar, visit a cinema or spend a night in a hotel. If you are really lucky, you might be sent on an expenses paid vacation as a mystery shopping assignment.

The companies employing the services of the mystery shopping company need to hear the opinions of both men and women. If you forget actual shops for a moment and consider the people who use restaurants, bars, cinemas, bowling alleys, skating rinks, hotels, theatres, taxi companies, gyms etc, it will be obvious that a large percentage of customers are men. The owners of these establishments need to discover whether men are satisfied with their staff and services, they can't afford to ignore the needs of half their customers.

An assignment to visit a bar, sample a beer, purchase a snack and check out the men's cloakroom is not most women's idea of a great shopping trip but getting paid to carry out such an assignment will sound like a good deal to many men. Perhaps it's just the name mystery "shopping" that puts men off and the companies need to find a suitable alternative title to attract more men into this work

Easy Promotion for Online Shops

Online shopping is growing very fast. Because it does not cost anything to open a new online shop that will be accessible by any user from any part of the Earth. It doesn't require thousands of dollars. Any internet user that has some good idea and some internet experience can open the shop. It needs only several days to buy domain name, hosting and setup shopping cart software. The main problem is to find customers on the market. The advertising and promotion become more important in the web era.

The first step of promotion is to submit your website to Search Engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN and list in directories like DMOZ, Yahoo Directory and Business.com .

The first key to success in attracting the customers is PPC advertisings like Google Adsense and Overture. You need to spend $30..$50/month at least to receive some good promotion.

But more relevant users you will get by using Product Search Engines. This means that you will not get a lot of rubbernecks, and you will not need to buy expensive servers to serve a lot of non-effective visits. The major Product Search Engines are: Froogle, Yahoo Shopping, BizRate, Price Grabber, and Shopping.com . Only Froogle is free, all other requires deposits based on PPC. You will need to spend some time to prepare product listings in special format and submit them to Product Search Engines. If you using common shopping cart software, in most cases you will need only to setup new module for this software, in other case you will need help of the programmer. Also I like WillyFogg.com Product Search Engine, it is free and it doesn't require creating any special product feeds. You need only to submit your site URL at http://willyfogg.com/submitshop.php and your products will be added in several days to products catalog and search engine index. Holiday Gift Ideas for Choosing Gifts for Everyone

Once you have set your diary, you have to list out the likes and dislikes of the recipient. Think and find out if he or she has some specific hobbies like gardening, music, reading, cooking, clothing etc. Men generally love sports equipment, electronic gadgets, handyman tools, wallets, perfumes and maybe clothes. So it would be better for you to buy something that is related to these fields, and gift it to the recipient. On the other hand, women have a fancy for jewelry, clothes, flowers, perfumes, sports stuff and cooking. There are many gift items in these categories for you to choose from to give that special woman of your life.

Instead of personally going shopping to buy all your gifts, the internet today offers a better alternative where you can do all your shopping while sitting in the comfort of your home or office. This way you save lots of time and money; there is no need of running from store to store or from shopping aisle to shopping aisle looking for the perfect gift. Neither do you need to spend on fuel to reach these stores to do your shopping.

All you have to do is to type the names of the gifts that you need in any search engine, and you will be presented with a list of sites housing these gifts. You then have to just browse through these different sites, where you are sure to find a price that meets your ideals and budget.

Of course, if you still can’t think of the perfect gift, or find that whatever you choose is above your budget, then you could consider presenting your near and dear ones with a gift basket or gift certificate. There are also many gift baskets on the internet for you to choose from. These gift baskets usually have some gift items, chocolates, cheese, and cake; in fact, there are different types of gift baskets meant for different occasions. If you want something special, you can also customize the gift basket to meet your expectations!

Merchant Accounts and Shopping Systems

Congratulations! You created an impulse in a customer to buy your product, but there's one small catch--without some way to process their credit card information, your sale is gone.

One of the best ways to capture and use customer credit card information is with a merchant account (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) that is tied to your electronic shopping system. It used to be hard to get such a merchant account but no longer. It seems like every company out there is ready to give (well, not give but sell) you a merchant account, but beware.

You will run into all kinds of deals from people trying to lease you credit card swiping equipment, too. But unless you do a ton of face-to-face business, you will never see a real credit card and that credit card swiping machine will serve you better as a doorstop. I can safely say that nearly all of my sales are done via the Internet or telephone. Every once in a while, I'll get the odd fax order, but far and wide I have no use for a physical swiping machine. Even when I do sell products at the back of the room during my speaking engagements, I just fill out a form by hand to used later, and when possible, I bring my portable computer and capture customer information electronically to be used online later. And these days it seems I am finding more and more places have wireless networks to use so I can enter all the customer, account, and order information on the spot and submit the whole transaction online instantly. It's as if the customer was logging into my shopping cart system from somewhere else.

When shopping for a merchant account, it is important to get firm numbers on up-front fees, monthly fees, credit card percentages, and costs per transaction, so be sure to get the merchant's definition for a "transaction," such as whether obtaining authorization only constitutes a transaction or whether processing a return does. All of these fees can add up, but still will seem like mere pennies when the orders start flowing in.

Another piece of advice to heed--don't try to save a few bucks by signing up for a merchant account, even if it is free, before you choose a shopping system. The shopping system is much more important. Make sure that any merchant account you consider works well with you shopping system.

Internet Merchant Shopping Smarts

Need the perfect outfit or shoes for a party but don't have the time to browse through the mall's racks? If the thought of pushing your way through throngs of shoppers and wandering teenagers is making your skin crawl, you know you're more likely to pass up on the event. But why miss a potentially great party just because you haven't got the time to shop for clothes? Fret not. Internet merchants and online payment processors are here to provide solutions to your shopping woes. Since shopping through internet merchants and online payment processors is pretty easy, whole afternoons are not wasted just trying to find the right item. With a few clicks, dozens of purchases can be made.

Internet merchants and online payment processors offer convenience, something that can't be said about regular shopping. Since most of us want and need anything that can make life easier, internet shopping is the way to go. Virtual auctions and stores like Amazon, Sotheby's, and Christie's have extensive collection of products ranging from the ordinary to highly specialized artifacts and collectibles. Most virtual stores have almost a limitless array of products, unlike the mall, which run out of stocks in your size. Net shoppers can easily canvass prices and find the best deals by hopping from one merchant site to another minus aching feet. A woman who digs Prada shoes, for example, can leisurely browse online catalogs before deciding on a purchase. She can check out dozens of virtual stores while at home or during an office break. Online shopping is similar on-site shopping, only much better and comfortable.

Wait, before you get frantic and max out your card, breathe deeply and read on. Internet merchants and online payment processors are not foolproof. Be very careful in doing business with these online merchants. Payment in internet shopping is done through online payment processors which are not entirely secure from hackers and identity thieves. Chances exist that clever hackers and other unscrupulous individuals can break into your credit card account. These hackers can also use your personal information for illegal purposes. You might just be surprised with excessive credit card bills for items you didn't buy and received. To add insult to injury, products sold in virtual shops are generally more expensive. For limited and strict budgets, on-site shopping is better. Or, you can spend time brwosing through different sites to compare prices. Internet merchants and online payment processors are convenient alternatives to ordinary shopping. To keep enjoying its benefits, don't forget to be smart and be aware of the possible risks.

What is Ethical Shopping

Increasingly we find ourselves beset by problems that seem beyond our control; global warming, GM Foods, animal testing, the spread of factory farming, the arms trade and human rights abuses, to list but a few. Shoppers are often left feeling helpless, the typical response being 'there's nothing I can do'.

But you can by shopping in an Ethical way. Put simply, this is buying things that are made ethically by companies that act ethically. Buying ethically means buying a brand or from a company which doesn't exploit labour, animals or the environment. The way in which you can act as an 'ethical consumer' can also take on a different form and that is avoiding products (also known as boycotting) you disapprove of such as battery eggs.

GuideMeGreen acts as a unique internet guide, showing you which brands and companies are classed as ethical. For more indepth information see the Good Shopping Guide or the Ethical Consumer magazine.

Why buy ethically?

Everyone needs to go shopping in one way or another. As an ethical consumer, every time you buy something you can make a difference by choosing an ethical product or by buying from an ethical business.

For example, when you buy from a company that doesn't exploit its workers and provides them with decent working conditions, you are giving the company the funds to continue its ethical behaviour. At the same time, you are no longer buying from a company that exploits its labour with poor pay and often a dangerous working environment. That company then loses business, which may encourage it to change its ways and to look after its workers.

How do I know it's ethical?

In general consumers must have confidence that any 'ethical' claims that a brand may make conform to certain standards which are independently accredited. Organisations such as the Good Shopping Guide and Ethical Consumer provide an ethical analysis of everyday brands and the companies behind them. The Ethical Marketing group publishes the Good Shopping Guide, updated annually, grading hundreds of companies according to their policies on 15 ethical issues.
For example, next time you are buying shampoo, the good shopping guide recommends that you buy from the body shop and avoid L'Oreal which has the bottom rating when it comes to animal testing

Online Shopping Boom in Australia

As everyone knows, the Internet is a great place to find bargains and great deals on any product you can name. Want heated socks? You'll find them online. Discount books? No problem. Any and everything can now be purchased online, and most Internet shoppers know that buying online is usually much cheaper than visiting a physical store. Online shopping has become very secure, and there's no reason to be afraid to buy online. With many differed verified and secured systems, it's okay to use your credit card for your Internet purchases. Online shopping is quick, easy, and cheap, and everyone is getting involved. Even people who never buy anything online are realizing that sometimes there is no choice. Even event tickets to concert and sporting events can be found online often after those venues have already sold completely out of tickets. If you can get tickets to the big game online and no where else, why not use the Internet to your best advantage?

A World Connected

The Internet has brought the entire world together. From the safety and relative comfort of your own home, you can browse online encyclopedias, libraries, visit museums and zoos around the world. You can shop in Paris, read about art in Egypt, and research anything that you desire if you know how to use the Internet. A man living in Idaho can chat with a woman living in Beijing. People from all walks of life can get together in a virtual room and play games, have heated discussions or even date. The Internet has connected the entire world, and we are the ones who benefit. We can learn about anything, buy anything, talk to almost anyone, and all we need is Internet access.

How Are Things Down Under, Mate?

Australia has taken part in the online shopping boom in a big way. Australian-based and Australian-themed web sites filled with every product imaginable will pop up in any Internet search. Many of these sites, while easy to navigate and attractively laid out, have so much stuff on them that it can get confusing. Australian-based online shopping sites have become increasingly popular recently. Is it possible that Aussies like to shop online as much as the rest of us do?

It's true that most of the time; you don't know that you're visiting a site from another country unless there's another language (that you can't read) on the site. It's easy to tell "oh, this site is Japanese" or "this site much be German" because the language is strange and unfamiliar. But sites based in English-speaking countries, like Canada, England, and Australia are harder to discern from the pack. If everything's printed in English, how do you know if that site comes from California or the Australian Outback? Most Australian online shopping sites don't have helpful pictures of kangaroos and wallabes to tell you "hey, we're from Down Under!" So chances are that you've already been exposed to an Australian online shopping site and you didn't even know it! Australian online shopping sites are all over the place. They pop up in searches and they're being linked to all over the place. Unless something blatantly tells you "this is Australian," chances are that you won't even know the difference.

Shopping With the Aussies

A culture that has been immortalized in film, books, and restaurants, many countries are fascinated with Australia. A wild, rugged, and infinitely interesting land, Australia has a culture, a language, and a style all its own. The recent online shopping boom in Australia has brought more Aussie-made and Aussie-related products into America and other countries. But Australian online shopping isn't all kangaroo figurines and boomerangs. Australian products are great, and that's why they're becoming so popular. Online shopping in Australia is huge right now, and sites for shopping abound.

Shopping Online: Online Discounts for Designer Clothes Shoes and Jewellery

Whether you're looking for a spectacular gift or the perfect accessory for your favourite black dress, you'll find exactly what you want when you shop online and you'll find it for less. Online discount shopping has come of age. Buyers across the UK have learned to take advantage of the convenience and savings of shopping for designer clothes, jewellery, watches and women's shoes online.

Nearly anything you can find at the shops, you can find online and at a discount. It used to be a bit harder to find just the right thing the online sales were mostly through obscure little web sites that offered big discounts on last year's designer clothes lines and women's shoes, but that's no longer the case. Online discount shopping is not only more popular than ever, it's now chic to buy your name brand and designer clothes through the internet.

Even the High Street retailers have become wise to the discounting possibilities of online shopping. Many of them, like Tesco, offer special internet only discount deals on some of their most popular items. The strategy has paid off for Tesco, which sold to over one million online customers in November and December of 2005, and John Lewis, which posted over 100 million in online and catalogue sales last year.

Many people may be hesitant to buy clothing and jewellery online especially at cheap, discount prices. The fear of being cheated or buying fake or inferior merchandise isn't an idle one when you're shopping without actually seeing what you're buying. There are some common sense precautions that you can take to be sure that you're getting what you're paying (at a discount) for.

1. Shop at trusted sites. That doesn't mean that you're confined to shopping just the big name catalogue stores, though. There are some wonderful internet shopping directories that let you search and compare prices of designer clothes, electronics equipment, jewellery and women's shoes. However, there are some really great comparison sites that only list legitimate shopping sites where you won't be cheated.

2. Shop using a credit card. When you make a purchase via a credit card rather than paying with a cheque, you have the option of disputing your charges if the item is not delivered, or proves to be less than hoped for.

3. If you have the option when shopping for designer clothes online, try on the item at a local shop first to be sure you get the right size. If that's not possibly, most internet shopping sites have a sizing page so that you can check measurements and be certain that your purchases will fit.

4. Be sure to check the return policy of the web site you're shopping just in case. You may have to return the item at your own expense, though some online shops make it easy on you.

5. If you're shopping for women's shoes, take the time to have your feet properly sized before ordering. It's better to try on shoes in a similar style first to be sure that they'll be a comfortable fit.

6. Do beware when buying expensive watches and jewellery online. Check the contact info of the web site from which you're making the purchase if it's not a business that you've used before, and do a quick internet search of the company name to turn up any complaints against them.

You can get incredible bargains on women's apparel, including hard to find designer clothes and shoes by shopping online. Make the internet your first stop when shopping, and be sure that you're getting the best possible price from a trusted source

Tips and tricks for finding the best and safest online shopping deals

The internet has become a very large market where thousands of stores sell all the merchandise that is demanded by customers, and millions prefer to shop online rather than to get stuck in traffic, spend precious time to find a suitable parking spot and then wait in big lines to pay for what they purchased.

Furthermore, online shopping allows the buyer to visit as many virtual stores as he/she wants, and to choose and compare between a large variety of products and prices, without even leaving the house.

So if you aren't doing it yet, start shopping online and you'll soon discover that the advantages of doing it make old-fashioned shopping a waste of time and even of money. It's fun, safe, and practical, so give it a try and you'll have a pleasant surprise.

Whether you're doing it for a long time or you've just started, you need to know a few tips and tricks about online shopping in order to make sure that you find the best deals and save as much as possible. Here are a few things that you always need to remember when you're browsing the huge online market to find the best products, either for yourself or for your family and friends:

-research a little about the website that you're planning to order from. Some websites contain reviews about many other online shopping stores. If you see that they are positive then you can try to order a cheap item and see if everything is done by the book. After making sure, you can start ordering more items.

-know all the information about the items and their prices, make sure you find out all the details, the whole price, including other taxes and shipping fees, in how many days will your purchased item arrive, if it can be returned, and other useful info. If you want to find the lowest shipping fees and the shortest waiting time then order from a shop that is in your country.

-always compare the prices from multiple stores and make sure that you select the best offer. Also look for discounts, special offers, and low shipping fees.

-use a credit card when buying, because it is the safest way to pay for an item. You have the right to cancel your payment if you discover that you have been tricked and you keep a proof of how much you should have been charged for. It is a good idea to print the page after ordering and paying for something. Credit card information is encrypted and coded so that hackers or others can't access it.

-read the security policies and refund policies before ordering something, so that you know who you're dealing with.

If you follow the simple rules mentioned above you'll never be cheated and you'll always find the best deal. The variety of merchandise that can be found online greatly exceeds the one that can be found in a single shop, and the online shopping market is continuously growing, most of the large companies have moved their businesses online and many prefer not to waste the time and money lost when visiting non-virtual stores, so soon online shopping will be the only method of shopping for most people, so always try to remember the tips above for the perfect shopping session.

5 Tips To Shopping For Hyundai Cars

Shopping for Hyundai cars is not significantly different that shopping for any other type of automobile. A little common sense will go a long way in making sure that you get the best car for your buck and for your lifestyle. Below are a few tips to help make your shopping experience a smooth ride.

Hyundai Cars Shopping Tip # 1

First and foremost, consider your budget and how much you can comfortably spend on your new car. Whether you are paying cash or plan on having your new car financed, affordability will have a large impact on which car you ultimately choose. Plan out a realistic budget and stick to it.

Hyundai Cars Shopping Tip # 2

Consider how the car will be used. Are you single or married? Do you have children? Do you travel a lot and, if so, is storage or transportation a major issue? The answers to each of these questions will help you to choose a car that is the right size for your needs. If you are single and plan to use your new car for work, a compact design may be ideal. Less fuel consumption and more wiggle room in parking spaces may be an attractive benefit. If you have a family or do a lot of traveling, whether for business or pleasure, a roomier car may be the better option to ensure that everyone has plenty of space and is comfortable.

Hyundai Cars Shopping Tip # 3

Take the time to speak with your auto insurance agent about the cost of insurance. A sporty car will be higher priced, in both the sale price and insurance, than a family car. The theory is that a sporty car is purchased for the purpose of being driven fast, which is why insurance may be higher. A family car, however, is thought to be used for the family and may not be such a high risk, as far as insurance agents are concerned.

Hyundai Cars Shopping Tip # 4

It's all about the features and what you want to get out of your car. If you want all of the bells and whistles, you will be paying for them. Optional features on a car will be more expensive than a basic model, which is for the more conservative car owner.

Hyundai Cars Shopping Tip # 5

When shopping for any automobile, including Hyundai cars, it is best to shop with a dealership that is willing to work with you in getting the best deal possible. If you happen to come in contact with a salesperson that simply will not budge on the price, don't be afraid to walk away. The sticker price is just a bargaining price and is not the lowest price for most reasonable dealerships. As with any number, there is always a little wiggle room. If the salesperson won't wiggle, then you walk away.

Top Ten Online Shopping Security Tips

Protect yourself with these safety shopping guidelines

Every year billions of dollars are spent by consumers on line; and as the trend is growing rapidly, shopping security is still the number one factor in which a person may choose not to buy from a website.

This is particularly true if you are new to the internet or starting to buy on-line for the first time.

Shopping security has always been a touchy subject and is so important that most reliable companies go to a great deal of trouble to protect their customers rights, privacy and security.

So can people feel safe when shopping on-line?

The answer to this is yes, if shoppers follow simple guidelines. If you are new to the Internet or a regular shopper online, the following guidelines should apply.

1. Make sure you know the exchange rate; if you are not sure of the current rates, find out before you buy an item.

2. Find out the cost of delivery before placing your order and how long the delivery will take. Most shopping sites use couriers to deliver the goods and when delivering overseas can become quite expensive.

3. If you are bidding on E-bay check out the buyers and sellers feedback. This should become standard before you ever place a bid.

4. Always read the FAQ section if you are new to the site.

5. If someone demands cash for a payment, 'say no'. Use your credit card to make your payment; this will protect you against fraud. Credit card companies refund accounts where fraudulent activity transpires.

6. Check the buyers contact page. Make sure their postal address is posted on it. If not, don't deal with them.

7. Don't be afraid to ask the seller lots of questions, genuine sellers should be very helpful, some online shopping sites have forms where you can see customer feed back.

8. Check, and read in full the terms and conditions, and the privacy policy of the site.

9. If you are unsure about a site, try doing a search with Google or any of the other search engines. You may find comments posted about the shopping site from other customers.

10. If you are still not sure after reading the above it may be time to go shopping elsewhere.

These simple guidelines should also apply when bidding online.

If you do make the occasional bid in one of the many online auction sites, the same safety guidelines should become standard. Part of the appeal of buying or bidding online is that you tap into the global markets at a click of your finger. Buying through auction sites on the web can be very exciting and for most people enjoyable, but remember they can also be very addictive.

Most of the well-known auction sites are based in the United States; so overseas bidders should follow proper, but simple guidelines when placing their bids.

We should not shy away from the worthwhile experience of online shopping. Shopping on-line can bring you great savings, and will also take away the burden of going shopping

Essential Dog Accessories Shopping Tips

We accessorize many things. Cellphones, computers, homes, cars and PDAs are just some of the things that can be accessorized. Some people use accessories to emphasize the beauty of a thing; others use accessories to make things easier to use; still others use accessories to protect an item against harmful elements.

Accessories are not only limited to objects; in fact, there are accessories for living things, dogs for instance. There are a variety of dog accessories available -- ranging from accessories to enhance the appearance of a dog, accessories for pampering dogs and accessories that can both help dog and its owner.

If you're a dog lover, shopping for dog accessories is an important aspect of taking care of your pet. In fact, many dog lovers experience a great deal of satisfaction shopping for their beloved pets in the same way they do when shopping for their loved ones.

With a plethora of dog accessories in the market today, finding and choosing the best dog accessories for your pet can be a bit of a challenge. So here are some shopping tips to keep in mind when you're looking into buying dog accessories for your pooch.

Tip #1: When shopping for a dog collar...

Dog collars range from plain to fancy. However, more than the look of the dog collar, it's important that you choose one that properly fits your dog. The perfect dog collar for your dog is one wherein the space between your dog's neck and the collar is about two fingers wide. Never buy a dog collar based on how it looks. How a dog collar fits your dog should be your top priority.

Tip #2: When shopping for a dog leash...

Many types of dog leashes are available in the market. However, when shopping for a leash for your dog, choose the one that is appropriate to the size of your dog. If you have a big dog, get a dog leash that is wide and strong enough to hold him. In the same manner, don't get a big leash if you have a small dog. When choosing a dog leash, it's always best to go with one that costs a bit higher. Cheap dog leashes usually are of cheap quality.

Tip #3: When shopping for food and water bowls...

Choose food and water bowls that won't easily tip over. If you are considering buying a watering system that gives dogs a supply of drinking water for a longer period of time, choose a size that is appropriate for your dog. Water should always be fresh and clean so make sure that your dog can consume fairly quickly the water in the watering system you are about to purchase.

Tip #4: When shopping for dog toys...

Dogs are playful animals. When shopping for dog toys, consider those that your dog can gnash, chew or bite. Instead of chewing on slippers and shoes, these particular dog toys will encourage your dog to be more behaved. When choosing dog toys for your dog, consider those that are just the right size for him. Avoid dog toys that are too small; your dog may accidentally swallow small dog toys and choke. On the other hand, don't get a dog toy that is too large for your pet that he is unable to lift it.

Tip #5: When shopping for doghouses...

Your dog needs to have his own place outside of your home. A doghouse will protect your pet from the elements. Thus, when shopping for a doghouse, choose the one that is appropriate for your dog's size. The doghouse should be big enough to protect your dog from the harsh rays of the sun, rain and snow as well as be comfortable enough for your dog to live in if you ever leave your dog alone for long periods of time.

Plasma TV Be Aware When Buying Online

A plasma TV may very well be the next step in your home entertainment future and the potential sources for the purchase of a plasma TV have never been better. Because a handful of retailers have jumped on the plasma TV bandwagon and started offering these televisions as part of their home electronics line, the cost of a plasma TV has never been lower. The fact that the technology has become well-established has also helped lower the cost of the plasma TV. So where do you go to find great deals on plasma TV sets?

Any retailer or wholesaler that offers a good array of home electronics likely has plasma TV sets in stock or has a source for them. For many people, purchasing from a local retailer is literally the only option they'll consider because they want to check out the set "in person." While the cost has started dropping, a plasma TV still represents a major investment among your home entertainment components and you may be playing it safe to shop where you can actually see the set you are about to buy.

For other people, shopping online is a great way to do comparison shopping. You can find several online sources of home electronics that will allow you to conduct side-by-side comparisons of various plasma TV models. While you can do almost the same comparison by shopping retail stores in person, you might find that a side-by-side comparison makes your shopping easier.

Online shopping for the plasma TV of your dreams could net you a great deal, but don't overlook the fact that you're likely going to be paying shipping on top of the cost of the plasma TV. That cost might or might not be sufficient to kill the savings of purchasing online over that from a retailer in your area

10 Tips for Shopping Online for Clothing for a safe and pleasant transaction

As many women would say, shopping for clothes can be lots of fun! We've all had our doses of retail therapy in the past and with the vast selection available online to us ladies, shopping for clothes on the Internet can be even more fun.

Shopping on the Internet however can be a tricky business, especially if we do not take our precautions and make sure everything is in order. One need not fear though! With a little care shopping online can be a breeze! This article will walk you through ten tips, which if followed correctly, should help make your online shopping experience a safe and satisfactory one!

1. Although shopping for clothes online is a fun experience, it might prove to be a little bit tricky at first because you cannot actually go into a changing room and try on the items before buying them! If you find yourself wanting to buy from a new store, one which you have never bought from before, you might be a little unsure about the size to choose. Most reputable online fashion store do have size guidelines which you should definitely consult to help you choose the right size; however what I suggest doing is the following. When buying items online from a new store take it easy: buy one item first! Once the item arrives you would have an idea whether you have made the right choice, or maybe you need a smaller or larger size. That one item will give you an idea of the sizing of the particular store, so after having 'tested' the sizing go ahead and buy more!

2. I like to describe the feeling I get of a website as the same feeling I get when I meet a new person. There is usually either good chemistry or otherwise. It's really the same with website and online stores. What kind of feeling do you get of a website? Does it look professionally done? Does the design and navigation make your online shopping experience easier or is it terribly difficult to find what you're looking for? Is there an 'About Us', or a 'Company Info' page? These elements usually give you a general feel for a website, and give you hints on whether to decide either to trust the website enough to purchase from it, or move on.

3. Whilst browsing around the website, look out for signs and logos which may indicate certificates of security and reliability which the website might hold. Common names to look out for are VeriSign and BBB.org (Better Business Bureau).

4. Before actually making the purchase take a note of the websites customer service email and/or telephone number. Making sure that you have somewhere to refer to queries to should you need to, before actually making the purchase, will help you put your mind at ease.

5. Check the store's privacy policy and customer service page before making the purchase. It is important that you are aware of the store's return policies, delivery charges and shipping times.

The Online Shopping Revolution

As no doubt you have noticed online shopping is becoming more and more popular. In this article I write about this new revolution and discuss whether in my opinion this popularity is likely to continue or even increase, or if it is just some sort of short term fashion trend.

I was introduced to online shopping a few years ago when a friend of mine advised me that a certain electrical type company was offering their products with a discount of ten percent, when they were purchased online. This fascinated me and I then started to investigate if this was a trend which other retail outlets were offering. I found that quite a few others had similar online discounts and I soon started to catch the online shopping bug.

As a man I am not really one for shopping. I am not trying to suggest that all men hate shopping but I certainly do. When my wife wants to go on one of her trips to all of the local clothes and other shops, I do go with her and attempt to show an interest but in truth can not wait to get home. When buying items such as clothes for myself, I of course prefer to buy online. This is where online shopping become a dream for me.

A couple of years ago at Christmas time, I must admit that I purchased around eighty percent of my presents online. This saved me having to go to the shops in the first place, fighting through the Christmas shopping crowds and trying to find a car park space.

My family even now buy our weekly food shopping online. My wife prefers doing the food shopping in this way as she does not have to wait to have her items scanned and does not have to put up with the children asking if they can have this or that.

I believe that this online shopping revolution has only just started. I think that more and more companies are going to offer this service and that their websites will become even more impressive and easy to use for the consumer. People especially women will always love to go shopping but I think for certain goods, for example larger and more expensive items, that they will be mainly bought online.

In around five years time most households in the UK will have access to the internet therefore introducing even more potential customers to the option of online shopping.

My life has certainly been made a lot easier and less stressful through online shopping and I would advise other people to give it a go.

Finding the best Outdoor Camping Equipment

I just love a good hike, or climb out in the mountains or wilderness. Not to suggest that I'm an extreme sports junky, how ever I sure do love getting away for a weekend out of the city. Nothing like relaxing in the wilderness for a fun and eventful weekend camping get away. Hikes through wilderness trails, sitting by the fire all night telling stories. I just love falling asleep to the light of the moon, and the sound of crickets. Have you taken any adventures that sound like this lately? If you're not a regular camper then it's important that you have the proper outdoor camping equipment. Of course there's the standards sleeping bags and tents, but you want to make sure there aren't any necessities you might be forgetting to ensure your weekend is one to remember.

While the Internet and camping might not seem like the go hand in hand, when it comes to trying to locate the lowest cost outdoor camping equipment it's the easiest place to start. So give yourself some time, and jump online, use your favorite search engine to locate a few stores. All your favorite offline companies such as R.E.I. Have online stores where you can browse product lines, and items available.

Now what about ensuring you're getting the best price? Well let's check out a different site. Are you familiar with comparative shopping sites? Try Bizrate.com it's a well known product comparison site. This will allow you to compare similar products at several online stores, and select the best possible price.

You're going to want a good sleeping bag, not something that is for arctic camping but will handle the cold none the less. Ideally some form of utensils if you're planning on cooking and eating your meals onsite, and don't forget about a quality weather proof tent. While most tents won't handle monsoon season you can get one that will keep out the morning dew and a few evening rain showers.

Shopping offline for your camping equipment is also a great way to start. Getting to touch and feel what items you're considering purchasing gives you a better idea of exactly what things are made of and their size. Shopping in store doesn't mean you can look for a better price online once you know what it is you're looking for. Many consumers follow this practice not just with camping gear, but also electronics, and just about everything else.

I've spotted fantastic tents, or bags in store before, only to find them up to 30% less on the Internet when I got home. So remember take your time, make a list, and shop for the best deal when it comes to outdoor camping equipment. It's important you buy the right equipment now, it'll be worth it when you have a nice warm sleep under the stars.

Shopping made easier with personal loans

Christmas celebrations are at hand and you have a meager amount left with you to do shopping. Your wife is insisting on buying a new sofa for the drawing room and you have no money to spare for that. Many people face money crunch for shopping. Sometimes they don't have money to buy even small gadgets or home appliances.

The solution to the problem is very simple. Apply for a personal loan! A personal loan for shopping can be easily sought for buying a vast range of things you need. In fact a personal shopping loan can set your mind free from the stress of arranging money for your shopping.

There are two ways of getting a personal loan. One is the secured personal loan and the other is the Unsecured Personal Loans. A secured personal loan is one which is taken against collateral but the unsecured loan doesn't need collateral. Even though interest rates are a bit higher for unsecured loans, it's better to go for them for short-term financial needs such as shopping. One of the benefits associated with unsecured personal loan is that there is less paper work involved in the process. Also, there is no risk of repossession of property attached with it.

But of course, if you require a hefty sum of money for your shopping needs you can opt for a secured loan by offering your property against it. A secured personal loan will have lesser interest rates. This will also give you more time for repayment of the loan amount. But it comes with a risk of repossession of your collateral be it your house or any other property. As both the secured and unsecured loans have their own advantages and disadvantages, borrowers are advised to contemplate and decide on what kind of loan they want a secured one or an unsecured one.
